There are 3 types of interpersonal interactions: conversational, transactional and collaborative.

Seeing through their differences is vital to ensure that an appropriate software solution is employed to satisfy your needs.

An interaction of conversation is a transfer of ideas and an interaction of transaction is transfer of a transaction entity between 2 or more participants, whereas collaborative interaction is used for a modification of a collaboration entity, for instance: achievement of a common objective.

Collaborative interactions are structured in such a way that the key purpose of the participants is to change the collaboration entity from something non-secured and immaterial, for instance, an idea, into something useful, for example a design solution.

Collaboration software is related to groupware applications that let people exchange information and work as a team on projects.

The power of these solutions lies in the ability to allow participants to manage action plans, exchange documents, track projects, supervise schedules, facilitate business processes, be duely notified of any new objectives and things they are involved in. You may come across a plenty of approaches to making these applications useful: moderating events, papers and projects, automating business processes and harmonizing work of two or more business units or even companies.
